Editorial Policy

Last updated: May 30, 2026

FoodMing was created to combat the flood of misinformation, diet fads, and fear-mongering in the nutrition space. This policy outlines our commitment to evidence-based, unbiased, and accessible content.

1. Our Mission: No Jargon, No Hype

Nutrition science is complex, but understanding what to eat shouldn't be. Our core mission is to translate complicated scientific research into simple, actionable insights that you can use to make better food decisions.

  • No Jargon: We avoid overly technical terms where possible. When a scientific term is necessary, we define it clearly in plain English.
  • No Hype: We don't believe in "miracle" foods or "toxic" ingredients. We focus on the big picture of a balanced diet.

2. Clinical Accuracy & Expert Review

To ensure the highest level of accuracy, our content goes through a rigorous review process:

  1. Research: Articles are written by health writers who synthesize current peer-reviewed research.
  2. Expert Review: Before publication, clinical content is reviewed by members of our Science Advisory Board (comprising MDs, Dietitians, and PhDs).
  3. Ongoing Updates: Nutrition science evolves. We periodically review and update our existing content to reflect the latest scientific consensus.

3. Sourcing & Citations

We base our articles on primary sources. This means:

  • We prioritize peer-reviewed studies published in reputable medical and nutritional journals (e.g., The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, The Lancet, BMJ).
  • We consult guidelines from recognized health organizations (e.g., WHO, CDC, FDA, Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics).
  • We do not base our claims on press releases, sponsored studies, or anecdotal evidence.

4. Editorial Independence & Transparency

FoodMing maintains strict editorial independence.

No Pay-for-Play: We do not accept payment to feature specific foods, brands, or diets favorably in our core educational content. If we ever partner with a brand for sponsored content, it will be explicitly labeled as "Sponsored" and will remain separate from our editorial content.

5. Corrections Policy

We are committed to accuracy. If an error is published, we act quickly to correct it.

If you spot a factual error, please let us know by emailing editorial@foodming.com. Our editorial team will review the claim against current scientific literature, and if a correction is warranted, the article will be updated and a correction note may be appended.
